The series 'Absent Landscapes' was initially created from my work with chronic fatigue sufferers, or ‘Warriors’ as they prefer to call themselves. The landscapes' inaccessible to those living with the condition. As they look upwards and outwards from the confinement of their homes, I imagine and create images for them to visualise through their windows.
My work is embedded in ‘Mapping Theory’. The images are built layer by layer as if creating a map of a new topography and landscape. The images are layered and displaced to investigate and reflect moments of time, space, orientation, and absence.
