Created between 2021 and 2024, The Nature Energy Technology series explores the organic and the constructed whilst addressing the impact of technological changes on the global environment, increasing energy consumption, global warming, changing climate in the Anthropocene. An uncomfortable change that reveals how technology is often advancing faster than human wisdom.
Combining cameraless techniques with digital edits, the artist challenges the norm and informs us of a global technological chaos. The artist uses scanning as the technology, creating first 3D foil sculptures for the topography, then layering, rescanning, cutting, moving and replacing these elements. Later natural elements are added, such as water and soil to the images. The constantly changing environment through layered imagery is displaced and replaced in the hope that it somehow balances the chaos. Through the art of making sculptures the surface of the planet shifts awkwardly, tilting, dislocating, faulting, breaking and repairing.
